This week we have a special sneak peek at DBD’s production from customer order to delivery! First, we receive orders through our website www.dessertsbydana.com/ as well as over the phone at (302)-721-5798. However, if you’re planning a larger event, many people come in for a tasting, which is by appointment only.

There are so many flavors: Almond, Chocolate Banana, Red Velvet, Amaretto, Raspberry, and Pistachio, to name just a few. Did I mention the many options for fillings? Yum, there is a White Chocolate Mousse filling, Bavarian Cream with Strawberries, Lemon Curd, Orange Marmalade, Cannoli Cream, and so, so, so

many more options to fill your custom cake with. But it’s not just cakes; we do specialty treats as well.

After you have made all of these tempting choices, your order, design, and any special features, such as fondant, themed cake, cutouts, blown sugar, and others are added to our order board.

From here, our bakers go to work crafting your custom cake. This takes anywhere from a couple hours to several days. Many of the more intricate cakes must be done in stages in order to get the right look. In between these stages the cakes are frozen, making them easier to handle and work with, while preserving the freshness of DBD’s flavor.

Once a cake is complete, the customer picks it up, and if

they are lucky enough, Dana just might hand it to them personally. At this point there is usually a photo session, then everyone goes home happy! But we also deliver; if you live in the tri-state area, we would be happy to transport your cake—in fact we recommend it for cakes with multiple layers to keep it in pristine condition.
